Dianne Jacono Landscape printmaking and drawing has been a long-term project in my three and a half decades of art practice. A sense of awe at the scale and force of nature remains my primary impetus.
I draw and paint in the landscape, pulled into skies of towering clouds, windbreaks silhouetted against skies. It's a slow, quiet conversation between me and the landscape. Time slows, dictated by the changing light and weather rolling in. The collision of human actions versus the longevity of the natural world greatly concerns me. The human impulse to conquer and the consequences over time. I aim to engage the viewer in the shared project of looking and seeing through this lens, to interrogate values that overlook nature, and to be caught up in awe. I continue to work in this vein, both in the landscape and in my Ballarat studio. Dianne can be contacted at:[email protected] |
