Goldfields Printmakers Blog The Goldfields new exhibition 'Gathering II' will be held at Ross Creek Gallery. It will highlight once again their latest artistic developments, celebrating diverse talents and shared methods rooted in regional identity.
The exhibition opens Saturday, April 12 from 1-4 pm, guest speaker Dr Jennifer Jones-O'Neill - Associate Lecturer at Monash University Art, Design and Architecture (MADA) The gallery will be open each weekend form 1-4pm. The Goldfields Printmakers founded by Jimmy Pasakos in 2012 after attending the IMPACT7 conference. IMPACT it stands for 'International Multi-disciplinary Printmaking: Artists, Concepts and Techniques'. The Goldfields Printmakers is a collective that unites printmakers from the Goldfields region, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing. Their exhibition "Gathering" highlights the diverse talents of its members, celebrating both their craft and regional identity while promoting the cultural significance of printmaking in the Goldfields. The group has since exhibited internationally at other IMPACT events and in various venues across Victoria and beyond. Goldfields Printmakers website is for Printmakers who produce works predominantly in the art form of print and base their practice in the Goldfields region.
The websites role should act as a resource for these artists to connect and share their knowledge. It is envisaged that this website will be an ongoing resource and to promote the art of Printmaking. Some areas which this website will aim to promote: > Promote Printmaking across the region. > Linking up with the Pint Council of Australia - PCA. > Potential gatherings of Printmaking artists, sharing ideas throughout the yearly calendar. > Engage in collaborations, exhibitions, solo or group. > Conduct workshops and other related events. > An ongoing blog that consists upcoming events for the Goldfields Printmakers and its artists. > Contribute and engage with local communities in an effective and positive way. With the support of the Arts Academy, Federation University Australia and the Print Council of Australia, we hope that this website will contribute and encourage Printmaking-artists to participate and add value in some form to the site.
