Lorraine Durant, For the last three years I have been at Bendigo Tafe selectively choosing subjects from the Diploma of Visual Arts that I felt  would enhance my prior learning skills.  I have concentrated on drawing, printmaking and photography.  These three areas are instrumental to what I do. 

The method of drawing directly onto a plate with engraving and etching tools is appealing and I have concentrated on this technique for some time. At the moment I am taking drypoint images a step further by manipulating them, collaging and using photopolymer transparencies to produce a plate.

I am enriched by my past for images and try to produce prints that reflect “a feeling” in the conscious of the viewer. This honesty can be disturbing or engaging, but either way it allows the visual image to convey a message with integrity.
