Jan Palethorpe, art sustains me through the tedium and mundanity of day to day life, I get lost, then find my way again, believe, then lose faith, create and destroy. It's a cycle.

My concerns have been still are environmental, more recently I am trying to learn the art of simplicity and how to marry poetry with the image.

I have been been strongly influenced by traditional chinese landscape painting - for the profound sense of pure space the artist conveys both in words and pictures.
