Marte Newcombe, has been a practicing artist for over thirty years and had numerous exhibitions in museums and galleries throughout the USA where she lived and worked for 24 years. Since her return to Australia in 2006, she has had five solo exhibitions in Melbourne and has participated in a number of group exhibitions in Melbourne and Castlemaine. She is a master printer in screenprinting and has taught digital art at tertiary levels in the USA for many years. She was employed by NASA as a digital artist for her final eight years in the USA. Currently she works in Melbourne as a software trainer and lives and makes art in Castlemaine.
Her practice consists of three media: metal sculptures welded together from found objects, screenprinting and digital art. Much of her work is experimenting with the crossing over of these media, each informing and influencing the other. Her sculptures and their components are often the inspiration for her screenprints and digital work. To contacting Marte and view more works: Website: www.martenewcombe.com Email: [email protected] |
